The Opportunity
We’re seeking a Senior Designer / Estimator and Project Manager to play a pivotal role in the full lifecycle of our roof structure and truss contracts. This is more than just a job; it’s an opportunity for a prime mover to directly influence our growth and quickly advance into a very senior management position, shaping the future of our business in the short to medium term.
What You’ll Do
As our Senior Designer / Estimator and Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for:
- Design & Estimation:
- Performing precise estimating and design for roof structures and truss contracts.
- Utilizing Mitek truss design software (Pamir) as your primary tool.
- Project Coordination & Management:
- Overseeing and coordinating roof structure projects from inception to completion.
- Managing sub-contract carpenters and ensuring project efficiency.
- Acting as the key liaison with Architects, Engineers, main contractors, and general customers.
- Conducting accurate on-site roof dimension measurements.
- Providing essential support to our project design teams.
- Strategic & Growth Contribution:
- Contributing actively to the company’s future expansion and development.
- Driving initiatives that position the business for short to medium-term growth.
What You’ll Bring
- Qualified Structural Engineer, with a preference for PR.Eng. certification.
- 5-10 years of relevant experience within the construction industry.
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the truss and roofing industry.
- Proven proficiency with Mitek truss design software (Pamir).
- Strong track record in project coordination and management.
- Exceptional communication and liaison skills, adept at engaging with diverse stakeholders (sub-contractors, architects, engineers, main contractors, customers).
- Ability to perform accurate on-site measurements.
- A proactive mindset with a clear drive for progression and leadership.
